Important Information
SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION
- Registration is on a first come, first served basis. Enrollment will be limited.
- Each camp must be paid in full at the start of the camp.
- Payment for each camp(s) (except for Ready Set Code Camps) can be dropped off in the front office with cash or check. Checks made out to ACS Sycamore.
- If you are an ACS student, your all accounts must be current to register.
SUMMER CAMP REFUND/TRANSFER POLICY
- 100% refund if registration canceled more than 3 weeks prior to the start of the camp. A $15 processing fee will be charged to all canceled camp registrations.
- 50% refund if registration is canceled less than 3 weeks, but more than 2 weeks prior to the start of the camp.
- NO refund will be given when registration is canceled less than 2 weeks prior to the start of the camp.
- A full refund will be provided if a camp is canceled by ACS Sycamore.
DROP-OFF PROCEDURES
- Drop-off will be at ACS Sycamore's main entrance no earlier than 15 minutes prior to the start of camp or Door 7 for sports camp.
- Students will be checked in at the summer camp check-in table prior to entering the building.
PICK-UP PROCEDURES
- For pick-up parents will park their car, enter ACS Sycamore’s main entrance or Door 7 for sports camp.
- Students must be picked up no later than 15 minutes after the end of camp.
LUNCH & SNACKS
- ACS Sycamore does not provide lunch during summer camps.
- Students participating in a FULL-DAY camp during the same week should bring a lunch from home. Lunch supervision will be provided by ACS Sycamore summer staff.
- Unless otherwise noted, students will need to bring their own snack.
Sports Camps
Boys/Girls Basketball Camp with Coach Balderas
Learn from Coach Balderas along with NIU student athletes in this fantastic clinic! Participants need to bring a snack and water bottle. Participants will also receive a t-shirt.

Aggression Volleyball Camp
Introduction to volleyball. Come and learn the basics of the sport and see if your son or daughter enjoys it, and/or wants to grow their abilities. Aggression Volleyball Club (who we partner with) will run this super fun 3 day camp! Students will need to bring a snack and a water bottle.

Chess Camps
Intro to Chess
This camp is for the beginner chess player and led by Chess Club coach Mrs. Portillo. No experience is necessary. Participants will also get a chess board of their own at the end of camp. A snack will be provided.

Play like a Grandmaster Series - Part 1
This camp is for the experienced chess player and led by Chess Club coach Mrs. Portillo. This first part will go in depth teaching mid-game tactics and strategies. A snack will be provided. (You do not need to attend the second level camp)

ENDGAME: Close like a Grandmaster Series - Part 2
This camp is for the experienced chess player and led by Chess Club coach Mrs. Portillo. In this camp, end game will be the focus. Learn to close like a grandmaster chess player. Students will receive a Chess shirt and certificate of completion. A snack will be provided. Discounted cost of $125 for both levels of Grandmaster.

Positively Chic
Girls, join Mrs. Ellis and Mrs. Bailey for this is 4 day journey that is designed for you to explore your creativity while connecting with friends. Each day the girls will spend time curating keepsakes that represent their unique personalities and imagination. Beyond creating something beautiful, this workshop will foster a sense of accomplishment, community, self-confidence, and encouragement. Students will need to bring a snack.
Grades: Girls entering 4 - 6. max 18 girls.

Some examples of activities are: Making oobleck and conducting experiments with it. Designing a spaceship to land on an ocean of oobleck. Research animal habitats and island ecosystems and create a model. Camouflage a robot for a specific habitat/ecosystem. Solve puzzles related to book themes. Following simple recipes. Taking measurements and recording data. Students will need to bring a lunch.
